The first of my goals for the year

I'm doing an engagement shoot this weekend at Opryland! I'm so excited i will post some of the better shots. Next weekend i am taking one month pictures of a co-worker's new grand baby. So I'm getting a head start on my goals for the year

Nikon D80

Welcome the newest member of the family! Yes a Nikon D80. He will be here in 7-10 days. We got a GREAT deal on this and everything that comes with it. This is the ultimate MOJO (mobile journalist) package. Not only will this help my photography so much and in great time too i have an engagement in two weeks and a baby shoot in two/three weeks. So i have to learn how to use it now seeing that i have a cannon. Here's everything it came with!

Billy is graduating soon in Communication: journalism so this will help get he ready for whats to come.

MLK Day...

So on Martin Luther King day Dax and I went over to see Heather and Gavin. While the boys napped,played, watched Thomas, cried, fell, and mostly made a mess we made candles. So some time soon we are having a yard sale. Neither of us has enough crap to sell so we are doing it together. Well we still think we wont have enough stuff so we decided to make things...I have a few things i need to make in my spare time (that's a joke)before then too. But here is what 5 hours got us. We went to the store picked out the stuff. I had been collecting baby food jars and other wide mouth jars for a while now. We made our double boiler and started melting our wax. As you can see in below picture:

We learned a lesson here. This is a 4 pound solid block of wax. So how the heck are you suppose to cut this. Well i had the hair dryer and she had the knife it would have been really funny it there was a 3rd person watching. But we did the whole thing. We used crayons for the color and had 4 different smells. We even tried the ice candles. It was allot of fun and really easy here is one of the finished products:


If you look to the far right of this picture you can see a few other we make. Total in all we made 14 candles!

My new kitchen buddie

Yes ever since i got my new crock pot I've been making all kinds of stuff here were my two favorites last week. Hawaiian hay stacks and my pot pies. I love this book i got it at the mormon book store in Altanlta, GA right before i got married! There is so many cool things you can cook in a crock pot.

This is how cold it is today. 7 Schools are closed for extreme weather today. It is cold.

This was at work at lunch time. We went to get salads and the ponds were frozen. And then there's Heather in heels standing on the ice. Its cold.....

We've just started a FAMILY and this year and that is going to be my focus this year is my FAMILY. I want to bring us together, start traditions and teach of good things.
