Canning

I want to get a head start on my food storage. I just don't think I can wait till we find a house. So my question to you is what do you can (or have storage of) that your family enjoys? Where can I find recipes? How can I find instuctions on "how to can"? We don't have the big cannery out here in TN like they do in AZ. But I'm not sure what are some good things to can.

and dried bananas

State fair!

Last weekend we had the choice to go to the duck races or go to the fair. So we went to the fair, it was a good thing too because the duck races were canceled due to the rain. So off to the Nashville state fair. This was so much fun. We went with Heather, Chase and buddy Gavin. Billy was at his sisters birthday party and missed out on all the fun Dax and I had. Here are some pictures.

First we started with the rides just in case it started to rain. What you had to do was check to see how tall you were. Dax was 32 inches and Gavin was 36 inches. Well being that they are that short there's not much they could ride. Plus an adult has to ride with them on most. So we rode on the semi trucks. Gavin in the front us in the back. Dax really liked it. He had his hand on my leg the whole time and a spoon in the other. Then we found this train. We let them ride on it alone. They did so good. I mean look at Dax he was just hanging out the whole time.

Then we moved over to the petting zoo. At first I didn't think he was going to be nice to these animals. But he did well. He didn't grab to much and no one got bit. He really like the little black goat and got really excited to see the water bufflo. He petted the camel, lama, cow, horse, deer, and some other things. We went to the rabbit house and saw the chickens and the ducks.


Here we are with the pumkins and water melons. First place pumpkin was 1,119 pounds and the water melon weighed in at 239 pounds. Crazy!!! Oh yeah we also got our picture taken with abe lincon!

I got a new phone!

Yep! I got a new phone and it was completely free. This is the phone I have been looking at for a few months now. My friend just got a new phone and gave this to me. It's only 6 months old. I'm so excited. Hopefully this is the start of the good news train.

Bow holder

So my sister-in-law's brother had a baby girl. We are all really close. They did not find out the sex of the baby til she was born. They had a girl! So now it the time I get to make cute girl stuff. I've been out shopping and I got her 7 little dresses for next year. They were like $1.50 a piece! What a deal. I also made this.

BEFORE: I bought this at good will. The only thing I didn't like about it was for one it was plastic. Two it didn't have backing to it.



AFTER: A little paint some ribbon. Bam it's done.

After with the bows. Yes this is a bow holder for little girl bows. How cute is this!!! I got these bows off of etsy for yes....$1 each.

My little king

So last week in day care. (witch is going really well for him) they learned about royalty. He came home with his crown. He showed me how it worked. He doesn't like hats but he kept this on for a good while.

He later that night got to have a cupcake. There were a perfect size for him.

The dog park

So they bulit a dog park right behind our apartments! So I took Dax and Juliet down there. Here are some pictures from our trip. We had a lot of fun.

Death to the machine

I have this new obsession with lego star wars and lego Indana Jones xbox games. They are soooo much fun. Well I just finished 100% Indana Jones game. That was fun. I'm now at 81.5% done with star wars legos game. We usually play after Dax is in bed.



Well this weekend I was in the middle of my level and it shuts down. After about 10 minutes this is what we see.







Yes that is the RING OF DEATH and yes we have seen this before. Because I have seen this once before I'm scared I'm going to be out a system. I have a few phone calls I have to make when I get home about this.
